Professor Yanfei Xi is the Director of Biomedical Materials and Tissue Engineering Center of Academy of Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies, Perking University as well as the director, researcher and doctoral tutor of Biomedical Engineering Center of Perking University Shenzhen Graduate School.
Graduated in macromolecule of Northwest University in 1975; earned his Master of Medicine from Perking University Health Science Center in 1982; from November 1983 to June 2008, served as the Director of Institute for Medical Devices Control, National Institutes for food and drug Control; from 1991 to 1993, he served as visiting research in National Institute of Health Sciences of Japan; worked in the Therapeutic Goods Administration, Department of Health of Australia in 1995 (international visiting scholar).
Professor Xi specializes in the fields: Biomaterials, Tissue Engineering and Medical Devices. In 1988, 1990 and 1994, Professor Xi received respectively the third class prize for Advancement of Medical Science and Technology of Ministry of Public Health; In 1998, receiving the third class prize for Advancement of Science and Technology of Beijing; In 1998, Winning the third class prize for Advancement of Science and Technology of Sichuan; In 2004, Winning the second class prize for Advancement of Science and Technology of Beijing; In2007, Winning the second class prize for Advancement of Science and Technology of Zhejiang. Professor Xi wrote 16 books or chapters in books were published in Chinese or English language. As well as over 200 papers were published in Chinese or in International Journals, relating to biodegradation of biomaterials, evaluation on biomaterials and artificial organs, materials of planting perspectives, condoms, artificial heart valve nano-biomaterials et al.
